With a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Sydney majoring in accountancy, Joanne is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA). She brings over 30 years of finance, accounting, and business acumen to our team.
But there is more to Joanne than spreadsheets and ledgers, and away from the office, she is heavily involved in voluntary community work in keeping with her religious beliefs.
Joanne also likes keeping fit and delights in taking her Hobie kayaking with her husband on the waterways of Sydney, including Parramatta River and spending time in the great outdoors. She also enjoys walking around the Newington precinct with its leafy outlook and loves seeing local families out and about sharing their lives.

Before joining Newington Village Real Estate, Joanne worked for an accounting firm in Western Sydney that primarily supports real estate agencies. Our firm was one of Joanne’s clients. After a stint out of the workforce to raise a family, our MD, Matt Hamilton, invited Joanne to join our team.
Joanne largely works remotely, is responsible for accounts receivables, and is involved in the sales trust transactions, which involves liaising with vendors before settlements and invoicing. Real estate settlements involve large financial transactions, and with Joanne overseeing the cash flow, vendors and buyers can be confident their money is in safe hands.
Apart from supervising the secure flow of funds, Joanne also handles the day-to-day running of the business, including paying salaries and other human resources functions.
